CHAPTER COMMITTEES

This is where the real work of the Chapter gets done. Without the hard work of the volunteer members on these committees, our chapter would not be the valuable organization that it is.

We would also strongly encourage our members to get involved in the CSI Denver Chapter. If you have any interest in participating or helping out, please contact any of the Officers or Directors or specifically, any of the Committee Chairpersons by email or telephone.

Dean Leschak, CCPR
Awards Chair

It is important that CSI recognize the talent, achievements, and notable contributions to the construction industry that support the purpose of CSI.   An award conveys gracious and grateful recognition of extraordinary effort by members and others who contribute time and talent to further the vision of CSI.   There are three levels of the awards program--Institute, Region and Chapter. Institute awards recognize notable contributions and outstanding achievements of national or international scope and service at the Institute level.  The region and chapter awards acknowledge similar service that is regional or local in nature. If local contributions are of such magnitude that the effect extends outside the region or chapter, the Institute may recognize such accomplishments.

  • Provides the latest CSI's Manual of Practice modules to membership at discount.

Communications Chair

The Communications Committee of the Denver Chapter CSI is a key element of the chapter. It can create the life of the chapter. It is responsible for all internal and external publications. The internal publications are the monthly newsletter, "The Scope" and the bi-annual published membership directory. Each of the publications are expanding and improving constantly.

The external portion of the communications council make constant efforts to publicize the events of the chapter. Publicity can create new members and establish enthusiasm within the chapter. We have just recently launched this web site. It is intended as both an internal and external publication. This is a work in progress.

Paula Davidson, CSI
Membership Chair

Membership Committee has three primary activities, we recruit, service and retain as many members as possible.  Our recruitment effort starts with the guest's, our members bring to our meetings.  We help them access the information or benefit, a CSI membership has to offer.  Our second activity is serving the membership, by notifying them of meeting dates and times.  We also make sure that the information contained in the Roster is as accurate a possible to insure its use.  Our third activity is to retain as many members as possible.  We call all non-renewed members in an effort to see if they simply missed renewing or if we as a chapter, need to improve on a specific issue.  This is an effort to make all members want to renew year after year.  If you want to know "who's who" in the chapter, we would greatly appreciate your assistance.

John Norton, CDT
Education Chair
303-825-2211

The education committee provides learning opportunities in topics pertaining to technical construction means, methods, and details. Other subjects address the standards and practices of the professions of the membership. The committee is interested in all participants in the design and construction business – contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, facility managers, project owners both public and private, developers, product manufacturers and representatives to name a few.

The committee strives to provide a variety of topics and formats for topics of interest to the chapter membership, both professional and industry members. The committee wants to conduct education venues on a consistent basis so that members can both have their calendars marked ahead of time and can count on having an educational resource.

In 2004 the committee seeks to make the CSI more recognizable to the design and industry professions as a source of pertinent information. To this end there will be outreach to other professional organizations and co-sponsoring of education programs.
